25 Best Photos of 2011

Here’s a quick review of my favorite photographs from 2011. Compiling the list made me realize that my archive, at some point this year, crossed the 100,000 exposure threshold. Henri Cartier-Bresson famously said, “Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst” and I can certainly attest to that. I’d say that the digital corollary extends that to at least 100,000 because I have yet to even enter the arena of monsieur Cartier-Bresson. For the record, I have 16,918 total images for the year, which falls in line with previous annual totals of 12,684 – 13,298 – 13,754 and 17,595. The anomaly, for me, was 2010 with 30,120 but two and a half weeks in Spain and three weeks in Southern Oregon will do that to you. 2011 was a good year and I look forward on improving, both in volume and quality, in the New Year. I hope you’ll be around to encourage, collaborate, commission, model and, above all, enjoy.

Happy New Year,

In case you want to see the photographs all together….
