drw design build – Cable Hill House – Architectural Photography

I’m embarrassed it’s taken me so long to get these photos up on the blog, especially so because they are of one of my favorite projects in Portland and the house is home to my favorite owners I’ve dealt with by far.  Seriously, when I went back to grab some nighttime photos from the street and found that they were having a dinner party not only did they not shoo me away but they made me crash the party after I had the shots in the bag.  Initially I was holding off on publishing the photographs because we were waiting to hear from AIA Portland on whether the project had been selected for the Design Matters Home’s Tour.  It did make the tour, even having one of these photographs become the cover for the brochure, but with the wait to hear if we got in and my busy Summer season ramping up, I dropped the ball on getting these live.  Alas, drw design build did an amazing job of completely gutting a quirky 1980’s disaster of a house into the stunning remodel of the modern gem you see here.  Because the craftspeople are all in-house, with a few select outside specialists, the details of the construction are immaculate.  They’re so good at what they do, in fact, that they’re not afraid to craft commonplace, inexpensive materials into things of beauty.  I just hope their fine work comes through in my photographs.
