Weekend Camping Trip to Fort Stevens State Park

To get you ready for the weekend I thought I’d share a few snapshots from my camping trip last weekend. A few friends headed out to Fort Stevens State Park, known as much for the wreckage of the Peter Iredale as for the fortress that used to guard the mouth of the Columbia River. It was just a single overnight but it was great to get away from the city, and away from work, even for such a short time. Whatever plans you have for the weekend, I hope you have a great one.

In case you weren’t aware of them, that’s Allie & Eran, the duo behind Sound Semantics. They’re in the midst of an interesting project of writing, recording and producing a video for a new song every week of 2011. Check out their blog or their YouTube channel for the updates.

These pelicans were flying in formation a foot or two off the water, rising on occasion, seemingly to avoid the cresting waves.
